It is cold out - imagine how nice it would be to give a homeless person a blanket to keep them warm.

I love that idea. Thank you so much. I think I am going to do that. Keep the great ideas coming.

HI! I just wanted to let you know that I did this very thing the other day. There is a path behind my house where it looks like a homeless person is living. It has been terribly cold here (for Florida - down in to freezing temps), and so, my hubby and I walked over to this “sleeping spot” and put a blanket with a ribbon on it in there. I have not checked yet whether someone was able to make use of it or not, but I hope so.

Hope you all are having a wonderful day! :o) Tara

That sure is encouraging to hear. Thank you for helping me keep my life in perspective today.

I haven’t given any away yet, but recently while at my local Goodwill I thought I’d buy some sweatshirts to give to any homeless I encountered. I waited to buy them a few days because as I got the idea I noticed a sign saying there was a 1/2 price clothing sale coming up. I figured $3 was good… but $1.50 was great.

So, I got 6 sweatshirts when I went back, all the good ones I found… though I admit I kept 2 of them for myself… but I added 3 from my closet to the pile when I got home. They are in my car waiting to be handed out soon!

Not sure why I didn’t think to buy some blankets, but I may do that soon as well. But check out your local Goodwill and Salvation Army stores - lots of great stuff, sometimes brand new even, for cheap money.

I fell in love with a beautiful colourful mohair blanket today - I bought it from a hospice charity shop fro only £4.00- tonight I joined RAKTRACK and was inspired by your idea. I will willingly give this blanket to a homeless person at the earliest opportunity. This weekend we are set to see temperatures fall across the UK - perfect inspiration - perfect timing.
